Chester Hill
The team spent the morning meeting with Paul, the minister of Chester Hill Anglican Church, to learn more about how the church operates. Paul highlighted the multi-cultural aspect of the suburb, speaking of how this creates unique challenges for evangelistic ministry and how he and his team have worked to overcome these challenges.
The afternoon was spent in a time of walk-up evangelism amongst the community, with a particular focus on engaging with these different cultural groups and asking them questions relating to their particular cultural celebrations or religious beliefs. These conversations were used to open up a dialogue in which we could share the Gospel and speak about what we believe as Christians. This was also used as an opportunity to invite community members to a dinner being held at the church on Friday night, as well as the church’s Easter services next weekend.
Praise God for the way in which Paul and his team have been able to minister to the people of Chester Hill, finding functional ways to get around the numerous cultural and language barriers that can so easily hinder the spread of the Gospel message.
Please pray that God will continue to work in the hearts of the community of Chester Hill, that the conversations had during the walk-up can prove fruitful, and that many members of the community can be drawn to the dinner event being held on Friday night. Please pray that through this event the people may come to know Jesus and have a desire to be plugged into the church community.
Leppington
The Leppington team spent the day today preparing for our SRE seminar on Friday and meeting the wonderful people of Hope Anglican Church. We are looking forward to the continued involvement with Hope tomorrow as we run SRE and help out also with their Hub kids activities and youth tomorrow evening.
Praise God for the gift of being able to meet all these different churches and ministries, that we are able to see how God is working through so many wonderful people across Sydney so that many are reached with the Gospel.
Please pray as we prepare and teach in the SRE assembly that kids will learn about Jesus, the good shepherd who laid down His life for them.
