Married Housing
Moore is a residential College and ideally all full-time students would live on campus for the duration of their studies. College has housing campuses in Newtown, Croydon Park and Parramatta. It is a requirement that married students live in the Moore College community for a minimum of 2 years.
Married students should therefore apply for College-owned housing. However as there are a limited number of houses available, some incoming first year students will need to make alternative arrangements for their housing. Part time students may apply for accommodation, however they will only be allocated after full time students are accommodated.
Rental prices for married student accommodation vary with the classification of the property. Rental contracts apply. Appointments are necessary to sign leases and pick up keys.
Any queries about accommodation for married couples or families should be sent to housing@moore.edu.au or phone 02 9577 9999.
Single Accommodation
All single students are expected to reside in College accommodation for the duration of their course. We have a variety of accommodation available.
To apply for a residency please email accommodation@moore.edu.au or call 02 9577 9999.
Students may move in the week before Orientation starts. However, the College kitchen will not be open and you will need to self-cater. Meals are available for first year students from the commencement of Orientation, starting with breakfast for residents of single accommodation.
Temporary Security Swipe Cards are also provided at this time.
Further information on arrangements is set out in the Guide to John Chapman House.
Accommodation Payment
Accommodation fees for both married and single students is applied weekly and charged fortnightly. Married Students are charged rent for the whole year including vacation periods. Single Students are charged the standard rate during term time and varied amounts during vacation depending on occupancy and meals consumed. Meals are not offered over the Summer Vacation. This form is required to be completed every year irrespective of details changing. Students can also choose to pay via Direct Deposit or via BPAY at the Concierge Desk.
